Betcha by Golly Wow! Russell Thompkins Jr. and the New Stylistics at Resorts World Manila
For those who don’t know, Stylistics were the soul music vocal group of the 70s.They are the ones who popularized the song “Stop, Look, Listen”, “You Are Everything”, “Betcha by Golly, Wow”, “People Make the World Go Round”, “I’m Stone in Love with You”, “Break Up to Make Up”, and “You Make Me Feel Brand New”.
Russell Thompson, Jr. was the original vocalist of the original Stylistics. He left the Stylistics band saying he even regretted that he didn’t leave earlier. And after 4 years, Thompson started a new band named “Russell Thompson, Jr and the New Stylistics”. This band included another former Stylistics member, Raymond Johnson, plus additional 2 members of the group.
Russell launched the New Stylistics with lots of pomp and pizzazz on the highly rated David Letterman show. Since then, they have performed in countless concert halls and venues around the world, charming their ever loyal followers. Russell, after two decades, is finally coming to Manila together with original Stylistic Raymond Johnson and the New Stylistics, which includes a full band with a full horn section.
